MintNeuro raises $5 million to scale chips for neural implants
MintNeuro has raised $5 million in funding led by Odyssey Ventures to expand its semiconductor platform for neural devices. The Imperial College London spinout develops purpose-built chips for implanted and body-integrated systems, where size, power consumption and electrical performance create constraints that ordinary commercial components may not meet.
The company says it has working silicon and integration partnerships with neurotechnology developers, including Motif Neurotech and Amber Therapeutics. Earlier work with Motif supports a minimally invasive neurostimulator aimed initially at treatment-resistant depression.
The investment supports manufacturing and commercial programs rather than proving clinical outcomes. As more neural-interface developers emerge, specialized chips could become a shared infrastructure layer instead of bespoke designs built independently by each company.
