ChatGPT Finances expands to Free and Go users
OpenAI began rolling ChatGPT Finances out to Free and Go users in the United States on web, iOS and Android. The feature lets users connect financial accounts so answers can be grounded in their own spending, savings and investments.
The expansion moves a product built around sensitive account data beyond paid subscribers. Users can ask questions about transactions and portfolio activity inside the same conversational interface they use for general tasks, rather than exporting statements into a separate analysis tool.
Connecting accounts gives the model better context, but it also raises the value of the permissions around that context. The usefulness of personalised financial analysis depends as much on reliable data access and controls as on the model producing the explanation.
