Meta makes Muse Spark Open available to developers

Meta has made Muse Spark Open available as an open-weight model. It supports coding, multimodal understanding and workflows that combine several tools or agents. Developers can deploy the weights rather than depending entirely on Meta's hosted service.

That changes the deployment choice more than it settles the performance comparison. Hosting a large model introduces its own hardware, serving and maintenance costs. Meta's published benchmark results also depend on its evaluation setup.

The useful comparison is whether a deployment finishes the same work reliably at an acceptable total cost, including the infrastructure around the model.
