Ethereum's gas repricing work exposes contract assumptions
The Ethereum Foundation's Glamsterdam repricing analysis identifies a small set of contracts that could break or degrade when state creation and access costs change. Historical transaction replay helps locate those dependencies before activation.
Many flagged cases can be addressed with higher gas limits, while most contracts are unaffected. The harder cases are those whose behavior embeds assumptions about execution cost.
The analysis remains relevant after Hoodi's postponement. Increasing network capacity requires checking both average throughput and the exceptional contracts that react badly to a new resource-pricing schedule. The testnet delay leaves that validation work open.
