Ethereum schedules Glamsterdam for Sepolia

The Ethereum Foundation scheduled the Glamsterdam network upgrade to activate on Sepolia on October 6 at epoch 353,024. Node operators need compatible execution and consensus clients before the testnet reaches the activation point.

Glamsterdam combines the Amsterdam execution-layer changes with the Gloas consensus-layer upgrade. Its headline features include enshrined proposer-builder separation and block-level access lists, alongside gas-pricing changes intended to better reflect execution and state costs.

The announcement establishes the next public-testnet milestone, not a mainnet launch date. Hoodi and mainnet activation remain undecided, leaving the Sepolia fork as a test of client compatibility and application behaviour before the upgrade reaches production.
