Bitcoin enters the weekend below $78,000

Bitcoin traded between roughly $77,600 and $78,000 on Saturday morning, after retreating from a recent high above $81,000. Bitcoin.com News put the 24-hour decline at around 2 to 2.5 percent in its morning market report.

The reversal followed Federal Reserve chair Kevin Warsh's Jackson Hole speech. US spot bitcoin ETFs also ended a nine-session run of inflows on Friday, recording around $202 million in net outflows.

The shorter decline sat inside a much stronger August recovery. Bitcoin was still up more than 23 percent from August 15 in the report's snapshot, illustrating how a difficult session and a substantial rebound can coexist.

ETF outflows added a second sign of cooling alongside the price. A single session of withdrawals, though, does not establish that the earlier buying has permanently reversed.
