Frankfurt symposium brings stimulation and BCI research together
The International Symposium on Brain-Computer Interface and Brain Stimulation is taking place in Frankfurt on October 24–25, alongside a session in China. Its program includes noninvasive stimulation, atlas-guided BCIs and neuromodulation for disorders of consciousness.
The overlap is practical. A recording system may help decide when or where to stimulate, while stimulation changes the signals that the recording system subsequently observes.
Conference sessions describe research directions and work being presented. They should not be read as clinical validation of the approaches in their titles. Useful comparisons still depend on the population, controls, outcomes and follow-up reported in each underlying study.
