DARPA advances four quantum teams to final benchmarking phase
DARPA selected Atom Computing, Diraq, IBM and IonQ for the final Stage C phase of its Quantum Benchmarking Initiative. The program examines whether developers can credibly deliver utility-scale quantum computing rather than ranking systems only by headline qubit totals.
Advancing in the benchmarking program means further independent verification and technical scrutiny. It does not mean any selected system has already demonstrated broad fault-tolerant quantum advantage.
