Circle describes the spending controls needed for agent commerce
Circle's October 27 overview of the agentic economy describes agents acquiring paid data, software and compute within human-defined authority. The examples link service discovery and payment to spending limits and a record of what was purchased.
The difficult part extends beyond moving funds. An agent must distinguish an authorized supplier from an unfamiliar one, determine whether the service was delivered and know when a purchase requires further review.
Stablecoins can provide programmable settlement, while cards and bank payments remain useful for other transactions. The article is a product and infrastructure perspective, not evidence that these workflows are already dependable across arbitrary providers.
