Circle agrees to acquire payments company Tazapay
Circle signed an agreement to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-based provider of cross-border payment infrastructure. The transaction is expected to close in 2027, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals, including from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Tazapay brings more than 60 banking and fintech partners, local payout connections in over 100 markets and more than $25 billion in annualised payment volume. Circle says approximately 60 percent of that volume already involves stablecoins. Tazapay has been a design partner for Circle Payments Network since 2025.
The companies said existing customers should expect continuity in service, APIs, pricing and support. The announced deal remains an agreement rather than a completed acquisition.
Stablecoin settlement still needs connections to local bank accounts at either end. The purchase would expand those connections alongside Circle's existing digital-dollar infrastructure.
