Nvidia and SK sign a $500 billion infrastructure deal

Nvidia and SK Group signed an AI infrastructure agreement worth more than $500 billion.

Under the deal, SK Telecom will build a 2GW Vera Rubin factory targeted to come online in 2027. SK Hynix is locked in as Nvidia's supplier of high-bandwidth memory, the component that pairs with each accelerator and has been in short supply for several years.

The headline value covers multiple years of construction and supply rather than committed near-term spending, a common structure for announcements of this size.

At 2GW the facility is comparable in draw to a mid-sized power station, and grid interconnection is now a routine constraint on where such sites can be built at all.

Memory supply, rather than GPU production, has been the binding constraint on accelerator output, which makes the supplier arrangement the more concrete part of the agreement.
