Solana maps the infrastructure behind stablecoin remittances
The Solana Foundation published a remittances report on Tuesday for money-transfer operators and fintech teams considering stablecoins. It outlines four routes into the market, ranging from treasury changes to running a broader stablecoin platform.
The report maps the services around settlement: wallets, liquidity, local conversion and distribution. It points to operators including Western Union and Zepz, alongside businesses that handle conversion in destination markets.
That wider stack matters because sending a token is only one stage of a remittance. Recipients still need a useful balance, somewhere to spend it, or a dependable route into local currency. The report examines specific corridors and their regulatory conditions rather than treating every destination as interchangeable.
Faster settlement is a meaningful improvement. Whether it reaches the customer depends on the infrastructure at both ends.
