Solana's developer update lists Alpenglow on mainnet

Solana's October 22 changelog, published on October 23, lists Alpenglow as a mainnet feature gate. It also reports that Firedancer successfully participated in the new consensus and is removing its TowerBFT implementation.

That moves the story beyond the previously announced activation schedule. It does not independently establish that advertised finality targets hold under every network condition.

Operational measurements remain important after a consensus transition. Client participation, voting behavior and application-level confirmation times answer different questions, even when they are all described as network performance.
