World launches a separate identity wallet

World launched World ID app on October 18 as an identity wallet available in more than 150 countries. It separates managing and presenting identity proofs from the financial functions of World Money.

Different proofs answer different questions. Orb verification supports Proof of Human, while phone-based flows can establish presence or selected attributes. The company also describes delegating proofs to an agent acting for a person.

A human identity proof does not by itself establish that a particular purchase or account action was authorized. That requires a separate, clear relationship between the person, the agent and the service accepting the request.
