Xanadu receives provisional approval for more DARPA support

Xanadu announced provisional approval for additional DARPA funding on October 19. The one-year extension could provide up to $10 million under the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative and continues work associated with Stage B.

The company says the support would help advance critical components while supplying progress information for continued evaluation. DARPA's program examines whether proposed architectures can reach useful scale under realistic cost and engineering assumptions.

Provisional approval is different from full payment or a final validation result. The announcement establishes continued support for investigation, while leaving the architecture's technical and economic claims subject to further scrutiny.
